Farra Morgan, Mystery at Morris Ferry, is a juvenile mystery reminiscent of the Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys and Trixie Belden genre. The Morgan's meet and befriends the Carson family at the campgrounds of Morris Ferry, an actual location in southern Tennessee. On the first day of vacation, Farra and her cousin Taylor, begin to explore the woods surrounding the lake and accidentally find themselves observing an argument between three men at an old abandoned fishing cabin. As they continue to watch one of the men is forced into the woods. Although Taylor thinks they should tell her aunt and uncle immediately, Farra does not agree and becomes involved in a mystery of danger and intrigue. Returning to the cabin the next day, they find more clues that something ominous has occurred. She convinces her brother, Tommy along with Taylor and the two oldest Carson children, Gunner and Bella to return to the cabin during the night so she can look for clues. Their involvement results in the kidnapping of her younger sister, Sydney and the Carson's youngest son, Dax. Farra soon realizes she is the only person that knows the location of the two missing children. Setting out to rescue them, she comes face to face with the mysterious man that she suspects has been following the families during their vacation. She never suspects the true identity of this man, but he turns out to be instrumental in the mysterious happenings at Morris Ferry. Confronted with saving herself or attempting to rescue the two young children from the abandoned fishing cabin in the woods of Morris Ferry, she suddenly realizes the cabin has erupted in flames. Follow the pursuits of Farra Morgan as she attempts to solve the Mystery at Morris Ferry.

This is perfect for new readers! I would especially recommend this for fans of Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, and any young mystery reader.
I have just finished reading Farra Morgan Mystery at Morris Ferry and let me say I loved it. At first I didn't think I would like a book that targets young readers but I was really wrong. After the first chapter I was drawn into the book and couldn't put it down. I'm more like Taylor getting pulled into my cousin's crazy adventures but I love Farra who is brave, adventurous, and straight up nosy. I'm going to pass this book down to my nieces and nephews!
I bought this first book in the series from D.L. at a local event. As a teen, I was the biggest Nancy Drew fan I had ever heard of. I read at least two books a week throughout each summer of my young to middle teen years. The Farra Morgan series is the closest thing that I've found to those wonderful Nancy Drew mysteries. D.L. does a masterful job of developing the plot and at the same time keeping you interested with accurate descriptions and depictions of a camping vacation. I was right in the middle of their explorations and discoveries and it took me back to the summers of my youth when I went exploring with my cousins. Wonderful, delightful and riveting! Thanks D.L. for a great afternoon of reading. )
THo geared for maybe teens or so I as an adult thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Based loosely on some of my great neices/nephews
